Objective

Each of the sites had different requirements ranging from minor civils work to resurfacing. To keep within the clients budget it was necessary to carry out work on each site consecutively which required NMC to meet several logistical challenges.

Delivery

During the pre-start meeting our expert proposed that instead of replacing the concrete, which was currently in situ at one of the sites, the client should consider the option of using asphalt as the area could be trafficked almost immediately rather than the seven days it would take for the concrete to set.

Due to the nature of project traffic management was required on all sites. Stop and Go signs were provided and operated by a four-man crew.

The surfacing involved the use of various asphalt materials as we surfaced footpaths, car parks, and roadways. Where required er applied thermoplastic lining.

The job was completed successfully, and all sites handed back to the client within the agreed time frame. The client was very satisfied with the workmanship and professionalism showed by NMC Surfacing and we have since been awarded further contracts.

Project Overview

Services Delivered

Objective

The job required the planning out and resurfacing of two areas on the car park that had become worn. This project needed to be completed outside of normal trading hours to limit disruption to the retailers and members of the public.

Delivery

It was agreed that the work would take place during the hours of 21:00 – 04:00 and would be phased over two nights. Each phase included the planning out and resurfacing of an area ensuring that there would be no impact during the day.

Traffic Management was still required as there was a 24-hour fast food outlet on the retail park. NMC Surfacing provided two traffic marshals, signage and barriers, and kept the outlet manager aware of their progress throughout the project.

A total of 1,735m2 was excavated. The planed areas were sprayed with tack coat and resurfaced and all joints were over banded before the lining was refreshed.
